Hello honest people. I have always tried to take cooking seriously, taking the whole thing as an important ritual. This is the case here: since cabbage rolls, it means to twist cabbage leaves and certainly small ones, the size of a finger. But recently I discovered lazy stuffed cabbage rolls and you know what? It turned out decently. This is a working and successful option, in my opinion - "daily", for lunch or dinner. I was more than satisfied with the result. I'll tell you about my impressions in the conclusions, as usual.
Ingredients:
Minced meat - pork / beef - 600g
White cabbage -250g
Cabbage leaves - several pieces separately
Rice - 2 tbsp. L
Onion - 1
Dry thyme, basil and black pepper - pinch each
Flour for breading
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt to taste
Tomato juice - 300ml.
Sour cream - optional
How to cook:
Prepare food.
Cut the cabbage and onions into large pieces and interrupt in a blender for just a few seconds. It was convenient for me to do this in portions in my blender.
In a large bowl, combine cabbage and onion, minced meat, raw rice, mashed herbs and peppers.
Season everything with salt and mix thoroughly.
Shape the cutlets with your hands. I knock each cutlet out of habit, throwing it from one hand to another.
Roll each piece in flour. Then fry in hot vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown.
Place cabbage leaves torn in large pieces into a frying pan or a refractory dish with a lid. So you don't have to cut them later. Moreover, you do not need to save on the leaves - they then turn out to be extremely tasty. Lay all future lazy cabbage rolls tightly on top.
Cover with cabbage leaves again. Salt.
Pour in tomato juice.
To cover with a lid. Send to the oven to bake at 180 ° C for 1.5 hours. Or cook on the stove over minimal heat, covered with a lid, the same hour and a half.
Put the prepared lazy cabbage rolls on a plate.
Cover the dish with sour cream on top.

Technical issues and replacements
- Cabbage can be either raw or cooked, sour.
- The filling can be added with fresh or pre-soaked forest mushrooms or budget champignons.
- Many people use tomato juice as a sauce, a little broth or white wine and a couple of tablespoons of sour cream. I am more impressed by simple tomato sauce, but try it and decide for yourself.
conclusions
For the first time, during the cooking process, I anxiously looked through the glass of the oven at the form with these cabbage rolls and was worried. I was worried that in an hour and a half they would categorically fall apart, as soon as I barely disturb them with a spoon. Then it seemed to me that we would get simple cutlets with cabbage flavor. But it turned out the other way around. Nothing fell apart - the prepared cabbage rolls kept their shape perfectly and fell apart quite resiliently with a fork. Raw rice cooked perfectly in an hour and a half, and the same classic cabbage rolls came out to taste. The cabbage leaves have softened and tasted wildly delicious. Next time I will put more of them. I will also experiment with this recipe with savoy cabbage.
Separately, I was pleased with the speed of this whole process: interrupting the cabbage and onions took me two minutes, another two or three minutes was spent on forming cutlets and 10-15 - frying in a large frying pan. All. And then it's up to the little - to put everything in the form and cook for an hour and a half, while doing their own thing.
As a result, we have a tasty, satisfying, "working" dish. I definitely plan to repeat it. Let's see what else you can think of interesting with him.
