№5p diet suited to patients with chronic pancreatitis. Clear following it can rid them of exacerbations. Patients with an acute form of the disease need to be careful with food and follow the doctor's orders. Most often, immediately after the attack, the patient prescribed fasting for several days, after which you can gradually move to a diet №5p.

The main purpose of the diet - to minimize the inflammation of the pancreas and to restore the production of pancreatic juice and essential enzymes.

Eat with pancreatitis must be small meals every 2-3 hours. This will allow the body to remove the extra load that causes the normal three meals a day. You also need to keep drinking regime: to drink 2-3 liters of water a day, at least 20 minutes before a meal and an hour afterwards.

The basic rules of supply:

- Avoid alcohol and illicit products pancreatitis (list below);
- Reduce the consumption of salt and sugar;
- drink sufficient quantities of water;
- Eat 5-6 times a day in small portions;
- do not overeat;
- do not wash down food;
- chop food for better absorption;
- eat food prepared for a couple; permissible boiled and baked foods, but in any case, not roasted or smoked;
- Eat food in the form of heat - extremely hot or cold foods cause gastrointestinal irritation.

Diet for pancreatitis: what can and what can not eat?

For the normalization of the pancreas is necessary to significantly reduce the amount of fat and carbohydrates consumed by increasing the amount of protein, primarily of animal origin. You can eat lean meats and fish, dairy products and egg whites.

Animal fats banned. Allowed only butter in very small amount (not more than 25 g per day). Allowed the use of unrefined vegetable oils (olive, sesame, linseed) and avocado in a small amount.

Acidic fruits and vegetables as well as fiber-rich foods should be excluded. And, of course, will have to forget about fast food, fried, fatty, spicy and sour dishes too, as well as sweets and pastries.

- desserts and sweet drinks;
- sweet and sour fruit and berries: grapes, pears, citrus fruits, figs, dates, pomegranates, kiwi, cranberries, cherries, etc.;
- vegetables containing large amounts of fiber and purine: radish, radish, garlic, horse radish, spinach, cabbage, onions and chives, sorrel;
- coffee, cocoa, black tea;
- fresh bread, sweet pastries;
- legumes;
- nuts;
- mushrooms;
- fried and hard-boiled eggs.

Permitted products for pancreatitis

- boiled or baked vegetables with a small amount of fiber: -

- carrots, beets, potatoes, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, celery;

- pureed vegetable soups;

- lean meats, poultry and fish (beef, veal, rabbit, turkey, chicken breast);

- low-fat dairy products, cheese, yogurt, milk powder (to 100 ml per day) and low-fat cheese;

- cereals: oatmeal, buckwheat, rice, pearl barley, semolina $

- pasta;

- dried bread;

- soft-boiled eggs and protein omelet;

- nuts;

- sour fruits: pears, baked apples non-acidic varieties of bananas, avocados;

- compote of dried fruits;

- herbal tea;

- mineral water.

Example menu for the day with pancreatitis

Breakfast:

protein omelet with broccoli and green beans;
