You can grow green onions at home without land all year round, which I successfully do.
I see no reason to buy onion feathers in the store, when delicious green feathers can be easily and effortlessly grown on your own on the windowsill.
I will tell you about 2 ways that I use.
I recorded a short video of how I did all this, look:
And if anyone doesn't like videos, then read the article:
Method 1:
We take the onion and cut the top, so we get more powerful feathers and there will be more of them. But if your onion has already sprouted, then you do not need to do this, leave it as it is.
If there is a husk that flakes off, then it is better to remove it.
I take a plastic container and put the onion heads, you can tightly to each other. I fill it with water about 0.5 cm. I put it on the windowsill and water it when there is not enough water. In about a day.
Method 2:
We take ordinary sawdust. They can be bought at a pet store and are inexpensive. Pour boiling water over and let stand for 15 minutes. So we will reduce the acidity of the sawdust and disinfect them.
We drain the water, slightly squeeze the sawdust, tamp them into a plastic container 1.5-2 cm.
We put the onion heads in a container, you can tightly to each other. Moisten the sawdust with water every 2 days.
After 9 days, I have grown like this onion:
I didn't notice much difference between the two methods. Choose for yourself which one you like best.
