I love mackerel very much! And I often cook it. It's good that the fish store is a stone's throw from home 😊 Today I will show you one of the methods of making mackerel that I use most often. Perhaps he is the fastest. And, besides, the recipe is dietary - no salt, no oil!
How I cook this fish, see the video below at 08:11. There are also 4 incredibly tasty and very simple recipes for making mackerel - baked, pickled, salted... Take a look - you will definitely like it!
COOKING:
For this recipe, I am using a double boiler. If you have a slow cooker, you can cook in it (steamed). If you don't have a steamer or multicooker, you can put a sieve in a pot of water, pour in some water and cover with a lid - here's a double boiler! Or, as my grandmother did, put cheesecloth over the pan and also cover with a lid.
I have this (frying pan with a mesh):
I wash the mackerel well, remove the head and entrails and cut into pieces.
I have an average fish. I cut into three pieces.
I pour water into the double boiler (I immediately add boiling water from the kettle). I add pepper to the water. I take a mixture of five peppers - about a teaspoon. You can add just black or just fragrant, for example.
Now here are two bay leaves. I put the net.
I put pieces of fish on the net. I don't salt the fish and don't grease it with anything!
I cook the fish for a couple of 15 minutes. And that's it! The dish is ready! Delicious fish that is suitable even for those on a diet - no oil, no salt! Of course, if you are not on a diet, the fish can be salted.
Serve with salad or any side dish. Delicious! And very fast! If you like mackerel, I recommend trying this method. Of course, nothing new, but my neighbor, for example, when she saw how I cook, was surprised. Therefore, I decided to show this method of cooking mackerel, which cannot even be called a recipe.
