Today I want to tell you how an ordinary glass jar helps me out, which I use instead of special dishes for baking in the oven.

Yes Yes, there are such momentswhen there are no suitable utensils and no baking sleeves at hand. And this is for me no problem - I just put chopped chicken and vegetables in a glass jar, put them in the oven and β€œforget” about it for 1.5-2 hours.

The result is amazingly delicious, I can tell you. I highly recommend trying it.

Ingredients for Cooking Chicken in a Jar:

Chicken - 1.2 kg
Potatoes - 3-4 pcs. medium size
Bulb onions - 1 pc.
Carrots - 1 pc.
Garlic - 3-4 cloves
Fresh tomatoes - 1-2 pcs.
Salt, spices and black pepper to taste

First of all, we cut the chicken into portioned pieces - not too large, they should pass freely into the neck of the jar. You can take a whole carcass and cut it, or legs (legs, drumsticks, thighs). I had homemade chicken legs. Wash the meat well, dry it with paper towels and put it in a deep bowl.

Sprinkle the chicken with salt and spices (I used a ready-made seasoning, you can use the spices you like). Mix everything well and set it aside for now.

We clean all the vegetables. Cut the onion into thin half rings, carrots - into circles or strips, garlic - into small pieces.

Cut the potatoes into small cubes.

We take a clean, dry three-liter jar and begin to lay the ingredients in it in layers. First, a few pieces of chicken, then onions, carrots, garlic, potatoes (vegetables can be slightly salted). We repeat the layers until the products run out.

The chicken should be on top and the jar should not be filled all the way to the top, leaving some space. Sprinkle with allspice and add tomatoes if desired.

We close the neck of the can with foil folded in several layers and squeeze the edges tightly so that the can is well sealed.

We put a jar of chicken and vegetables in a cold (!) oven and heat it up to 160-180 degrees. We leave for 1.5-2 hours.

The chicken turns out to be the most tender, it just melts in the mouth and disintegrates itself into fibers... and as a bonus - a delicious potato side dish with vegetables. An excellent dinner with a minimum of hassle to prepare it. Cook, taste, Bon appetit!
