A very tasty, unusual snack cake with herring on the festive table will conquer all guests.
This snack cake is a chic alternative to the boring herring under a fur coat. It is very tasty and easy to prepare, especially if you take a ready-made peeled herring fillet.

It is advisable to make such a snack cake on the eve of the holiday so that it has time to soak and infuse well. The products in the recipe are all simple and affordable, and the result exceeds expectations.
For the next holiday, be sure to prepare such a herring snack cake - you will not regret it!

Ingredients:

  • cracker - 2 packs (350 g)
  • slightly salted herring - 1 fillet
  • boiled carrots - 2-3 pcs.
  • boiled beets - 2 pcs.
  • boiled eggs - 4 pcs.
  • pickled cucumber - 2 pcs.
  • mayonnaise - 200 g
  • green onions - bunch
  • salt to taste
  • ground black pepper - to taste

Step by step recipe

1. First, let's prepare the ingredients. 2-3 pcs. three boiled carrots on a fine grater. 2 boiled beets, too, three on a fine grater.

2. Cut 2-3 medium-sized pickles into cubes.


Cut the fillet of the 1st salted herring, pre-pitted, into small cubes.
Finely chop a bunch of green onions. Green onions can be replaced with 1 head of white onion.

3. Divide 4 boiled eggs into yolk and white.
Three proteins on a fine grater. Three yolks on a fine grater too.

4. Salt the grated carrots to taste and season with a tablespoon of mayonnaise. We mix everything.
Grated beets, in the same way, salt to taste and pepper. Season with a tablespoon of mayonnaise and mix.
For convenience, put the mayonnaise into a pastry bag.

5. We fold the salad.
Grease the bottom of the dish or plate on which we will fold the snack cake with mayonnaise so that the cracker does not slip on the plate. We spread the salty cracker.
Put a net of mayonnaise on top of the cracker.

6. We spread half of the prepared herring.
Sprinkle the herring evenly with half the chopped cucumbers and a little green onions.

7. Lay out a layer of all the prepared beets on top.
Put a layer of crackers on the beetroot layer.
On the cracker again we put a net of mayonnaise.

8. We spread the remaining herring.
Sprinkle the herring with the remaining pickles.
Add some green onions.

9. We spread a layer of prepared carrots and distribute it evenly over the entire surface.
Put a layer of cracker on the carrot layer.
Lubricate the cracker well with mayonnaise.

10. Lay out a layer of prepared egg whites on top.
Sprinkle the whites evenly with grated yolks.

11. We cover the snack cake with cling film and put in the refrigerator to infuse for several hours, or better overnight.

12. Before serving, remove the cake from the refrigerator and decorate with chopped green onions.
Cut the finished snack cake into portions and serve on the festive table.

The herring snack cake turned out to be delicious and satisfying.
It is not difficult to prepare and looks beautiful on the festive table.
