Today I want to share with you a recipe for a delicious dinner dish, for which you will need the most affordable products that you can always find at home.

And the preparation requires very little of your active participation - the oven will take over most of the cooking.

✨ The fish is tender and very juicy, and the potatoes literally melt in your mouth. I recommend this recipe! 🥰

📕Ingredients for cooking: 🥙

Potatoes - 1.5 kg
Inexpensive white fish (pollock, blue whiting, hake, etc.) - 1.2 kg
Onions - 1-2 pcs.
Mayonnaise - 200 g
Milk (any fat content) - 150 ml
Salt - 2 tsp l. (taste)
Ground black pepper - to taste and desire

We defrost the fish, clean it from scales, entrails, cut off the fins and tails. Cut into portions. With equal success, you can cook cod, pollock, blue whiting and other fish from an inexpensive or medium price segment this way. I had pollock today.

We clean the potatoes, rinse thoroughly under the tap, cut into thin circles.

Put part of the potatoes (about 75% of the total volume) in any suitable sized baking dish, having previously greased it with oil. Add a little salt and pepper.

We put the fish on the potatoes, salt and pepper to taste.

Peel and cut onions into half rings or quarter / rings.

We wrinkle it a little with our hands (this will stimulate the release of juice) and sprinkle on the fish.

Put mayonnaise in a separate bowl, pour in milk and add a little salt.

Mix with a whisk.

On top of the fish, lay out the remains of the chopped potatoes and pour over the sauce. Then close the mold with foil and put in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about one hour.

When time passes, remove the foil and let the fish and potatoes reach the oven condition for another 10-20 minutes.

As you probably already understood, no side dish is required - this dish is completely self-sufficient. Therefore, sprinkle it with finely chopped herbs and serve.
