# drink # christmas I propose a recipe for boiled (uzvar) - a delicious, aromatic and rich drink made from dried fruits. Traditionally, it is prepared and served on Christmas Eve and Epiphany Eve. Like kutia (sochivo), dried fruit infusion is their essential attribute. Vzvar (uzvar in Belarusian and Ukrainian) got its name from the method of preparation. So, dried fruits are not boiled, but brewed. # boil # uzvar # vizvarizdried fruits #dried fruits #compotesdried fruits #uzvarizdried fruits
Ingredients: dried fruits, water, honey (to taste)
Cooking method:
Pour water into a large saucepan and put on fire - let it boil. Meanwhile, rinse the dried fruits. This must be done carefully and several times. In general, it is better to pour boiling water over the base for a while and let it stand for a few minutes so that everything unnecessary floats to the surface. As a rule, there are twigs, leaves, seeds and even worms, so be careful. If you have your own dryer and you are sure it is clean, then just rinse it several times and that's it.
As soon as the water in the pan boils, put dried fruits in it. While stirring, let the water boil again and you can remove the pan from the heat. I cover the dishes with a lid and let it brew for at least 3.5-4 hours. When the broth cools down to a warm state, add honey to taste. Now you can try the drink and add sugar if you don't eat honey. Stir - let it infuse. After a few hours, the brew will be ready for use. It can be drained or served with dried fruit.
A delicious, aromatic and rich drink made from dried fruits - be sure to make it and try it! By the way, I also have a proven recipe for Christmas kutya - Cook for health, friends, bon appetit and Merry Christmas and Epiphany!
