stewed apples, with fried breadcrumbs and whipped cream. Eblekeye dessert is very popular in the country and is present in the menu of almost all local cafes. It is prepared in the form of a cake or a small dessert, which is served in glass vases. In the classic version, crumbled macaroons are laid on the bottom, then apples stewed until soft in sugar syrup and fried breadcrumbs. Whipped cream completes the dessert, and the decoration can be the most diverse: meringue crumbs, grated or melted chocolate, nuts and even oatmeal. A very tasty and easy-to-prepare dessert that is sure to be a wonderful end to any holiday.
Ingredients: apples (peeled and diced), sugar (for mousse), vanilla, ground cinnamon (I have 0.5 tsp), water or lemon juice, breadcrumbs crackers, sugar (for crumbs), butter, berry jam (optional), whipped cream, fresh berries, nuts or something else to your taste, for decorations
Cooking method:
Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Instead of crackers, you can use biscuits crushed into crumbs, or cake layers, after drying them first.
Mix apple cubes with sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Simmer in a pan, adding a little water or lemon juice, until soft. Grind with a blender into a puree. Cool down.
Fry the crumbs in a pan for a couple of minutes, stirring constantly. Add sugar and butter, continue to fry, stirring so that the sugar and butter evenly mix with the crumbs. Remove from fire and cool.
Then put in transparent glasses in layers, decorate with whipped cream, berries or nuts, to your taste. Danish dessert æblekage is ready!
