Do you love the mint aroma and taste? And dried mint is already fed up and, moreover, it does not remain in the same "fragrant" fresh form? Try peppermint sugar! You will not regret!

What is mint sugar for?

First, it can be added to tea for flavoring. And also in any other drink. For example, if you want a mojito or lemonade in winter - such a preparation will help you out a lot.

Secondly, mint sugar is used in baked goods. Can be added to any cake or cookie. Oh, and what fragrant mint gingerbread comes out with him!

Thirdly, mint sugar is suitable for use in desserts and marinades. Yes, in marinating meat, for example, or fish.

Have you tried lamb or pork with mint? No? Then it is worth starting right now, with harvesting mint, until it is all blooming.

How to make peppermint sugar?

Ingredients:

fresh mint (leaves)
coarse white granulated sugar (not very fine)

Important! For 30 gr. fresh mint leaves will need 100 gr. sugar, so it is advisable to weigh everything.

How to cook:

1. Rinse the mint in cold water, dry on a towel - it should dry completely. You can wash the mint bunches beforehand and hang them in the kitchen to dry out.

2. Tear off all the young leaves, put them in a blender bowl, pour sugar on top.

Important! If the mint has wilted, then if desired, it is permissible to add 1 teaspoon of water.

3. Grind the mint and sugar into a uniform mixture.

How to store peppermint sugar?

Transfer the finished sugar to a jar, close the lid and put in the refrigerator. This sugar will be slightly moist but very flavorful.

There is a second method that I use more often. Dry.

Sprinkle the prepared sugar with mint from the blender bowl on a large sheet of clean paper and let the whole mass dry for several hours. Stir occasionally with your hand.

Peppermint sugar will become really mint, a uniform green color and you will not need a refrigerator during storage. True, dishes with a tight lid are still needed to preserve all the properties of mint we need.

Successful preparations and bon appetit!
