Here's how I became a millionaire blogger. I share where I started and how much you can earn from it.
Zen is 5 years old and in connection with this date I want to tell my story of how I became a blogger. After all, thanks to Zen, I have a millionth audience and it was on this platform that I began my blogging path.
“My name is Andrey Bunbich, I am a pastry chef and author of the Dessert Bunbich blog in Yandex. Zen, ”- that's how I introduce myself lately when people ask me what I do.
Now my audience size ranges from 900 thousand to 1.5 million. readers. And if you look at Yandex metrics statistics, then every month more than 1.2 million people read my blog. But this was not always the case, let's tell you how it all began.
I have been blogging for the third year already - I started in June 2018. The blog was originally called “Pastry Chef's Diary”, and I started it to share my recipes and useful tips with friends.
At first, I was completely unable to write, I made a lot of grammatical and stylistic mistakes. And I also wrote not only about desserts, but about everything.
I wrote many articles simply by copying other people's recipes. I didn't even prepare for them, I just copied from myself. Then he picked up pictures on the Internet, inserted them into the article and published them.
These articles received a small number of readings, and I myself did not enjoy the process at all. Therefore, after a couple of months, I abandoned the channel, even though it had already started monetizing and started bringing in money.
True, the amounts were ridiculous - 30-40 rubles a day. And since I did not know how to write, I spent 3-4 hours on a simple rewrite. Therefore, the decision to abandon the blog was easy.
But after 3 months, I went into Zen and saw that several articles that I wrote myself inside and out, got a lot of views. Then I decided to give up rewriting and release exclusively author's material.
I also narrowed it down to just desserts and made it a goal to write one article every day. It was very difficult in the beginning. I could spend over 4 hours writing one article.
To speed up the process, I took a huge number of writing courses. And gradually it began to give results. The articles began to gain many readings. And when I was accepted into Nirvana (Zen's program to support authors with quality content), everything went uphill.
To improve the results, I continued to study writing, photography, video shooting and, of course, improved in the confectionery direction. Gradually, I began to share not only recipes, but also reviews of purchased desserts.
My results were noticed and in August 2019 Zen invited me as a speaker for Zen. Monday, where I talked about my successes. After that, they started inviting me to other blogging events.
And now for the third year I have been blogging in Zen. During this time, I have gained experience, and my articles are gaining over 100 thousand views. But how much can you earn from this?
As I said, at the very beginning my income was 30-40 rubles a day, or about 1000 rubles a month. Of course, this amount is not comparable to the cost of making desserts for articles. But it was like that in the beginning.
Now the average monthly income is about 60 thousand rubles. In my opinion, this is already a decent amount. And that's just what I get with embedded ads. But there are also native placements that bring significantly more, but I cannot disclose this data.
In the end, I would like to congratulate Zen on its fifth birthday. During this time he has grown a lot, but he is still ahead. I would like to wish to be more open to my authors and never stop. Happy birthday, Zen!
