Once a week, I prepare a lemonade concentrate that fits in a liter jar. I tell you how I cook it and share my three favorite flavors.
I stopped buying sweet soda in the store a long time ago. Besides being expensive, it is often not useful. I make lemonades at home. I usually make a base concentrated syrup and add flavors to it according to my mood.
If you use my layouts, then the lemonade is enough for more than 5 liters. If it seems sweet, you can dilute it more and then the lemonade will be even more.
Collected in this article our favorite flavor combinations in our family. All three, of course, are good, but for me the most delicious and refreshing one is cucumber. I will not delay, let's cook!
Step-by-step recipe for how to make lemonade concentrate
Concentrate (syrup)
- Lemons 2-3 pcs (depending on size)
- Sugar 500 g
- Water 500 g
For the concentrate, I first cook the syrup from sugar and water.
I just bring it to a boil and let it boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat, add lemon juice and stir.
Important. I add lemon juice not before the syrup boils, but after. Thus, I save more benefits from vitamins and minerals.
I pour the concentrate into a jar and put it in the refrigerator until it cools completely.
When the concentrate is ready, I use it as a base. You can create different flavor combinations that you want. I will share 3 of my favorite flavors.
I start any lemonade preparation by filling a liter carafe with ice about ⅓.
Classic lemonade
- Concentrate 100 g
- Sparkling water 500 g
- Lemon wedges 3-4 pcs
I pour the concentrate into the decanter and squeeze the juice from the lemon slices. I don't throw out the slices themselves, but add them to the decanter for decoration.
Then I pour in cold soda water, stir so that all the liquids are combined, and you can serve.
Peach lemonade
- Concentrate 100 g
- Sparkling water 500 g
- Peach 3 pcs
- Orange 1 piece
Put the pulp of 2 peaches in a separate container, pour orange juice and a little syrup. Crush the peaches until puree and pour the mixture into a decanter.
I add the remaining ingredients. I cut one peach into pieces and put it in a decanter for decoration. Stir and serve.
Cucumber lemonade (my favorite)
- Concentrate 100 g
- Sparkling water 500 g
- Cucumber 120 g
I pour syrup and soda water into the decanter.
I cut the cucumber into thin slices with a vegetable peeler. You can use a knife, but you will have to try to cut as thin as possible.
For lemonade, only the pulp of a cucumber is required, we do not touch the seeds.
Add cucumber pieces to lemonade and stir until all liquids are combined. After a couple of minutes, the cucumber will give its liquid taste and can be served.
