Making chocolate pudding at home is easy. And if you replace cow's milk with oatmeal, then you can please yourself with sweets even during fasting.
My childhood was spent in the era of perestroika. At this time, store shelves were flooded with new products that no one had seen or tried before. First came yoghurts with an incredible amount of flavors.
Only yoghurts entered my childhood and my mother got used to buying them, when he appeared - dessert pudding. It was sold in tall plastic cups. Whipped cream on top and pudding on the bottom. There were 3 flavors available: vanilla, strawberry and my favorite, chocolate.
In those days, this dessert was much more expensive than yogurt, and my mother bought it only on holidays. The taste was amazing. I recently bought one, tried it, and the taste did not impress me. No resemblance to childhood pudding.
And the composition of the purchased dessert is not the best. Here you have palm oil and a whole mountain of emulsifiers and preservatives.
So I decided to prepare my own version. What I got, see below.
Step-by-step recipe for how to make chocolate pudding
Ingredients:
- Oat milk 500 g (regular)
- Cocoa 20 g (2 tablespoons)
- Cornstarch 30 g (2 tablespoons)
- Sugar 2 tablespoons
- A pinch of salt
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
I send all the ingredients into a ladle and mix so that there are no lumps left. For some reason, I first mixed everything in a bowl and then poured it, but you can skip this step and not produce dirty dishes.
I put it on medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook for 1-2 minutes. I constantly stir the mixture with a whisk all the time so that nothing burns.
When the mixture thickens a little, I pour it into molds, I have cans with a drag lock. I put it in the refrigerator until it cools completely (about 1 hour).
Before serving, sprinkle with marshmallows and burn with a burner. Instead of marshmallows, you can use nuts, pieces of cookies, white chocolate or whipped cream, then you get a dessert like in childhood.
And what sweets from childhood do you still want?
