Coming to the store and buying often quite expensive goods, we hope to get tasty and healthy products. But modern manufacturers often counterfeit products in order to make money, and many of them consist of plastic, synthetics, additives, and dyes. In general, a complete set of "chemistry", which is hardly useful, especially with regular use. Therefore, it is so important to be able to distinguish between counterfeit products.

Cottage cheese

One of the favorite foods of children and adults. But, alas, unscrupulous manufacturers often fake it too. Most often, a lot of starch is added to gain more weight and benefits. And in the end, it turns out not a healthy cottage cheese, but a curd mass, which you should not use too often.

How can you check?

Everything is quite simple here. To identify starch in the composition, pinch off a piece of cottage cheese and drip iodine on it. If the product is not natural, then the "curd" will turn blue.

Milk

Another frequently counterfeited product. To increase the shelf life and earn more, producers instead of high-quality milk supply normalized milk. This product either does not contain fat at all, the excess of which is removed, or, conversely, it is added to the composition in large quantities.

How can you check?

And here you don't need your own laboratory to conduct a test. It is enough to take alcohol and mix it with milk in a 2 to 1 ratio.

If the milk is real, flakes will form in the glass in just a couple of seconds. If it is normalized, flakes will also appear, but after a fairly long time.

Candied fruit

Real candied fruits are very useful because they are made from fruits and berries. And some of them contain more nutrients and vitamins than fresh products.

The main difference between natural candied fruits is their color, which should not be too bright.

But nevertheless, before using them, it is advisable to check them additionally and in another way.

How can you check?

Take a handful of candied fruits, dip them in warm water for a couple of minutes. If the product is not made from natural berries and fruits, then the dyes included in the composition will come off very quickly, and the pieces themselves will become colorless. This indicates that the candied fruits purchased are made from gelatin and dyes.

Yes, this combination is not dangerous, but it is still better to buy natural candied fruits, especially since they are not cheap.

Butter

A popular product on our tables. It is prepared on the basis of natural milk or cream. However, modern manufacturers replace it with palm oil, which is used to dilute dry solutions. The result is not healthy butter, but margarine. Naturally, such a product is not useful.

How can you check?

Cut off a piece of butter and pour boiling water over it. After a couple of seconds, a natural product will begin to melt and eventually blur with an oil stain, but if you bought margarine or a spread, it will float like a piece in water.

White rice

Alas, in the modern world they have learned to fake even this rather cheap product, replacing it with plastic. Most often, Chinese manufacturers are engaged in this, with whose products you need to be as careful as possible.

Rice is made from a combination of potatoes and synthetic resins, and the product cannot be distinguished only by the appearance of the grains.

How can you check?

Just light a handful of rice. If it is really a fake, after a couple of minutes you will see dark smoke and a characteristic smell. In addition, such a product takes much longer to cook and can remain firm even after an hour.

Caviar

Natural caviar is expensive. And that is why this product is most often counterfeited. Usually it is made from harmless algae, and in this case the resulting product should be called "roe". In taste and appearance, it practically does not differ from natural caviar, especially since dyes and flavors are necessarily added to it.

But, you see, when you give part of your salary for a couple of jars, you want to get a natural and healthy product?

How can you check?

Pour boiling water into a glass and throw in a couple of eggs from the jar. If you bought a natural product, the protein will quickly curdle, and a white trace will remain in the water. If the caviar is made from seaweed, it will quickly dissolve in the water and no sediment will remain.
