An excellent quick snack can even be made from cauliflower, replacing various fast food with it. Cauliflower in batter is very popular - its portioned inflorescences, fried until golden brown, can be dipped in sauces: mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic, etc.
The dish is prepared within 10 minutes if the vegetable was boiled in advance, or about 25 minutes. By the way, you can boil the inflorescences in salted water with the addition of citric acid and cool sharply, and then put in a bag and freeze so that you always have the necessary ingredient at hand to create a delicious snack.
It is imperative to choose fresh vegetables, since if there is a black bloom on the surface of the cabbage fork, the vegetable was not stored correctly and is not suitable for consumption!
Ingredients:
Cauliflower - 1 fork (350 g)
Citric acid - 1 pinch
Chicken egg - 1 pc.
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil - 50 ml
Wheat flour - 1 tsp
Preparation:
1. Rinse the cauliflower head in water, cut off medium-sized inflorescences from it. Put them in a saucepan or saucepan, add a couple of pinches of salt and a little citric acid there - thanks to it, the vegetable will not lose its snow-white appearance and will not turn gray after cooking. Pour in hot water and place the container on the stove, cook for about 3-4 minutes on medium heat. Then throw the inflorescences into cold water and cool, fold into a colander, removing excess liquid.
2. Break the chicken egg, pour into a bowl or small bowl. Add ground black pepper and salt, beat for about 1 minute, stirring white and yolk.
3. Add premium wheat flour and beat again, trying to minimize clumping. Leave the batter for 5 minutes.
4. Then put the boiled inflorescences in it and dip on all sides.
5. Heat oil in a frying pan (sunflower, olive, most importantly - odorless) to a boil - a prerequisite for the batter to set immediately! Gently put the inflorescences in batter in boiling oil, fry for about 1 minute on medium heat.
6. Then turn over to the other side and fry for about the same amount of time.
7. Cover a plate with paper towels or napkins, put the fried buds on them and let cool slightly.
8. Put ketchup or mayonnaise in the gravy boat, another sauce, place on a wide plate in the middle. Spread cauliflower in batter around and serve. Sprinkle chopped herbs over the dish if desired.
