Chicken stew with onions and carrots is a delicious, easy-to-prepare dish for a family lunch or dinner. It is prepared easily and quickly enough, and the result is adored by everyone at home, young and old.
If desired, the taste of the dish can be slightly changed for yourself by adding garlic for aroma or hot pepper for piquancy - you decide. Today we will prepare the classic version of the chicken stew.
Ingredients:
Chicken thigh - 600 g
Onions - 120 g
Carrots - 150 g
Tomato sauce - 1 tbsp
Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.
Parsley - 5 g
Salt to taste
Ch.m. pepper - taste
Preparation:
Prepare foods from the list. Wash chicken thighs under running water, pat dry with paper towels, remove the skin if desired.
Peel the onion, peel the carrots. Wash and dry too.
Cut the chicken thighs into large pieces. Heat refined, odorless vegetable oil in a frying pan, put chicken pieces in it, fry on all sides until lightly golden brown - 5 minutes.
When the chicken is white and slightly browned, add the onion, cut into half rings, to it. Reduce the heat under the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, until the onions are soft and sweet.
Now you need to chop the carrots. I really like to grate it for Korean carrots, but if you don't have one, regular one will do.
So, we rub or grind the root vegetable in any convenient way, add it to the pan to the chicken and onions, simmer over low heat for 4-5 minutes. You can add a little water to cook the carrots a little faster.
Stir your favorite tomato sauce in a glass of water, pour it into a frying pan, salt and pepper to taste. Simmer under a lid over low heat for no longer than 10-15 minutes. The sauce shouldn't boil over, it's delicious.
During this time, the chicken will be cooked for sure, you just have to keep track of how thick the gravy you prefer. After a while, add the chopped parsley, turn off the stove and let the finished dish stand for 10 minutes before serving.
An ideal side dish for chicken stewed with onions and carrots would be boiled rice or potatoes, as well as mashed potatoes. Divide into portions, top with delicious gravy and serve.
Enjoy!
