Puff pastry pies are very tender, tasty and aromatic - I advise you to bake more often, you will definitely delight children with them. You can add cinnamon, nuts, vanillin, or berries to the apple filling. Only in this case, it is advisable to add the berries directly when forming the pies. Puff pastry is suitable for both yeast and yeast-free.

Ingredients:

Puff pastry - 500 g

Apples - 600 g

Sugar - 100 g

Butter - 50 g

Egg yolk - 1 piece

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 Prepare foods from the list. For sour apples, you may need a little more sugar.

Step 2 Let the puff pastry thaw at room temperature. In the meantime, let's start preparing the filling, because it should cool down a little more. Rinse the apples, remove the core. Cut into small cubes of the same size.

Step 3 Heat the butter in a frying pan, spread the apples. We make the fire medium.

Step 4 We cover with a lid, gradually, as it warms up, they will let the juice out. Simmer until half cooked, stir periodically. If you keep it for a long time, you get porridge. I have apples from my garden, so they cooked very quickly, in 8-10 minutes. When I prepare apple filling from imported store fruits, it takes 2 times more time to stew.

Step 5 Remove the apples from the heat and pour sugar in them, mix - the filling is ready. At this stage, you can add cinnamon or vanillin. Leave the filling to cool until warm.

Step 6 After dusting the table with flour, roll out each layer of puff pastry into large squares about 35-40 cm.

Step 7 We cut each of them into 6 parts. I do this using a dough cutter for chebureks.

Step 8 On one side of each piece of rolled dough, make parallel cuts across it.

Step 9 On the opposite side of the blanks, lay out the filling on a tablespoon, trying to take apples without excess liquid.

Step 10 Close the filling with dough, press on three sides first with your fingers, then with a fork.

Step 11 Cover the baking sheet with parchment. We spread the pies at the same distance from each other.

Step 12 Shake the egg yolk in a bowl. Lubricate the blanks so that after baking they have a beautiful golden brown crust.

Step 13 We put a baking sheet in a preheated oven to 180 ° C, bake until golden brown for 25-30 minutes - be guided by your oven.

Step 14 Puff pastries with apples are ready. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
