A great invention - ready-made puff pastry. A real "lifesaver" for busy hostesses, because with it you can cook so much without spending hours making the dough itself. Puffs and pies, rolls and cakes, cookies and even pizza - whatever your heart desires!

Sugar puff pastry ears are a favorite of many cookies, and they are made from just two ingredients in less than an hour.

Ingredients:

Yeast-free puff pastry - 500 g

Sugar - 3 tablespoons

Step by step recipe:

1. Despite the fact that the set of ingredients is minimal, you need to properly defrost the puff pastry if it was bought in the frozen food section: in the evening, transfer the semi-finished product from the freezer to the refrigerator and leave there until morning. The dough will defrost without losing its properties. When it is ready for use, turn on the oven to warm up to a temperature of 210-215 degrees, cover a large baking sheet with baking paper.

2. Unfold the roll of dough and cut the slice to the desired size (for example, 30 cm long). The longer it is, the more layers the finished cookie will have, respectively, the size of the ears will also be larger. Spread some of the sugar evenly on the surface and lightly press it with your hand or roll it rolling pin so that the sugar grains are firmly fixed on the dough and do not fall off during further manipulations.

3. Visually divide the workpiece in half, that is, if the length of the cut layer is 30 cm, then mentally draw a line on a segment of 15 cm. Begin to roll one side of the dough, moving towards the center.

4. Do the same with the second part of the layer, rolling it into a roll, moving towards the already twisted part of the dough.

5. Two bundles "met" in the middle of the layer, slightly press them to each other so that they stick together.

6. Then turn the workpiece over with the seam down and cut it with a sharp knife into pieces 1.5-2 cm wide. In the process of cutting, some of the sugar may crumble, this is not scary, its main share will remain.

Do the same for the rest of the test.

7. Place the pieces on a prepared baking sheet at a short distance from each other. Bake for 15-17 minutes (or until tender) in a preheated oven. The baking time depends on the size of the cookie: small ears with few layers can bake in 10-12 minutes.

Watch out for baking while baking, because the sugar will start to melt in the hot oven, spill out onto the baking sheet and may burn, especially if the oven does not heat up evenly. Alternatively: you can put a tray of water on the bottom and preheat the oven to a temperature of 200-205 degrees, but then it will take a little longer to bake the ears.

8. The finished ears will brown a little during the baking process and will greatly increase in volume, as befits puff pastry. They will become light and crumbly.

Transfer them from the baking sheet to the wire rack and let cool completely.

9. Serve cookies "Ushki with sugar" with a cup of tea or coffee, or perhaps with a glass of fresh milk.

This is a basic recipe for "Ears" cookies made of puff pastry with sugar and it allows you to "play" with its composition, for example, if sugar is mixed with cinnamon or vanilla, then you can get a completely different taste and aroma of the finished baking.
