Juicy and tender minced meatballs with gravy are ideal with any side dish of pasta, vegetables, cereals, etc. They prepare so quickly and easily that even a schoolboy can handle it. By the way, for those who love piquant tastes, it is possible to recommend adding fresh pressed or dried ground garlic, a pod of hot pepper, but only if children will not eat the dish.
It is advisable to cook sour cream gravy, but it is permissible to use dietary mayonnaise - in this case, the minced chicken should not contain fat (for example, be twisted from chicken fillet). Perhaps a chicken egg will make the minced meat thinner - add premium wheat flour to it, do not hesitate, until the mass will not become dense and the meatballs will not keep their shape (this can happen with a small amount of meat product).
Ingredients:
Minced chicken - 400 g
Onions - 1 pc.
Chicken egg - 1 pc.
Diet mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
Vegetable oil - 50 ml
Water - 1 glass
Salt and pepper to taste
Dried thyme - 2 sprigs
Preparation:
1. Purchase minced chicken from a trusted seller or create it yourself at home by passing the washed and peeled chicken fillet through a meat grinder, putting a nozzle with small cells into it.
2. Peel the onion and rinse under running water. Cut in half and grate one half directly into the minced chicken container.
3. Beat in the chicken egg, salt and pepper. Mix all ingredients thoroughly into a homogeneous mass. If it turns out to be too thin, add a little wheat flour, about 50-60 g, and mix thoroughly again. The meat mass should be viscous. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.
4. Then dip your palms in water and form small meatballs of any size.
5. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet by placing it on the stove. Put the formed blanks in hot oil and fry them on each side for 2-3 minutes on medium heat until golden brown.
6. Place the sautéed meatballs on a paper towel lined plate to remove excess fat. Then send another batch of meatballs to the pan and fry. Continue until there are no blanks left.
7. Cut the remaining onion half into small cubes. Fry in vegetable oil in a skillet for 2-3 minutes.
8. Top it with diet mayonnaise (or low-fat sour cream, or classic yogurt). Pour in 1 cup hot water, salt and pepper the sauce, bring to a boil. Add dried thyme sprigs to it.
9. Place the fried meatballs in the sauce and simmer them on low heat for about 5-6 minutes. Then turn off the heat and let the dish simmer, covered for another 10 minutes.
Serve the prepared minced chicken meatballs with gravy hot along with mashed potatoes, adding a salad of fresh vegetables if desired.
