Salad with cabbage, carrots and apple

The salad, which is prepared all year round from available products, is served with meat dishes, any side dishes and consumed on fasting days. Only 40 Kcal even with sour cream. If you like crunching and include raw vegetables and fruits in your diet, prepare a mix with cabbage, carrots and a green apple.

Ingredients:

White cabbage - 300 g

Carrots - 1 pc.

Apple - 1 pc.

Sour cream - 50 g

Dill, green onions - 30 g

Salt, black pepper - to taste

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - Take the groceries on the list. In my recipe, sour cream is used as a dressing, but here options are possible: olive, corn, sunflower oil, with wine vinegar or lemon juice, balsamic or a drop of maple syrup / honey, mayonnaise, mustard. That is, changing the dressing sauce, each time you get a new taste from the simplest salad platter. Choose apples that are strong, sweet and sour green varieties, according to the season.

Step 2 - First of all, I wash vegetables, fruits and herbs with cold water, let them dry. Chop a part of the cabbage into thin strips. Cut carefully with a knife or use a grater / shredder. The thickness of the straw can be changed at your discretion. Immediately add a pinch of salt and, stirring, rub with some effort with your hands. In this way, the cabbage releases the juice and becomes softer, and the salad itself tastes better.

Step 3 - Remove the top layer from the carrots (if young root crops, then wash thoroughly with a sponge, you can not peel them). Three small or coarse (whatever you like) shavings. The juicier and sweeter the carrot, the better. Add to cabbage slices.

Step 4 - Peel the fragrant apple and cut into three coarse shavings or cut into small cubes. The apple should be felt. With it, the salad gets freshness, fruity sourness. We send it to a work bowl.

Step 5 - Add a handful of chopped fresh herbs: onion feathers and dill. Perhaps your other favorite. We mix.

Step 6 - Season with sour cream, salt and sprinkle with ground hot pepper. Shake from top to bottom, grease all layers with sour cream, taste, adjust the amount of spices. That's it, the cabbage salad is ready.

Step 7 - Transfer the salad with cabbage, carrots and apple to a clean container and serve immediately.
