Cranberry is an inexpensive natural antioxidant that is very useful for the human body, rich in vitamins. Unfortunately, for some reason in my family we remember about her when we have a cold. But if you eat it at least once a week, and in small quantities, then you can forget about colds altogether, since this berry strengthens the immune system. You can cook anything you want from cranberries, it goes well in taste with many products. Today we will cook a simple compote from this healthy berry.
Ingredients:
Frozen cranberries - 250 g
Sugar - 4 tablespoons
Water - 1 liter
Preparation:
1. To prepare a tasty and healthy drink, we will prepare products according to the list. If you are right for a completely healthy diet, you can replace sugar with cane or honey. With the latter, the compote will turn out to be unclear in appearance, but more useful. So, my cranberries are local, small, which I often freeze for future use in small portions. Then, as needed, I take it out of the freezer and prepare sauces from it for meat or drinks.
2. Pour clean drinking water into a saucepan or saucepan, bring to a boil.
3. Throw cranberries into boiling water. I don't defrost it beforehand - I don't see any point in this.
4. As soon as it boils, all the berries will float. Add sugar or honey to taste - whichever you prefer. This amount of sugar is more than enough for us, but if you like sweeter, add more.
5. We cook the compote for 5 minutes, it does not take longer (we will try to preserve all the nutrients as much as possible). During this time, foam may appear on its surface, it is better to collect it carefully. After a while, turn off the stove, cool the drink, then send it to the refrigerator until completely cooled - it is much tastier in this form.
Pour the chilled cranberry compote into decanters or any other convenient container and serve. And everyone will pour himself into cups or glasses.
