Sauerkraut salad is not only very budgetary, simple and quick to prepare, it is also very healthy, and also low in calories. It is not for nothing that our ancestors used it in large quantities in the autumn-winter period, because sauerkraut contains a large amount of vitamins and nutrients that increase immunity and lower cholesterol in blood. This salad is ideal for all meat dishes - boiled, fried, baked, but as a side dish boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes will be best served with it, although with many cereals it is also good is combined.
Ingredients:
Sauerkraut - 400 g
Onions - 40 g
Green onions - 2 pcs.
Dill - 5 branches
Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp.
Ground black pepper - optional
Preparation:
1. We will prepare all the products according to our list. It is best to buy cabbage in the market, and not in the store, there is more choice, and you can always try everything in order to choose a product to your liking. If you buy sauerkraut with apples, the salad will be even tastier. Two types of onions and my dill, shake off the water well.
2. I always chop the cabbage, so it's easier to eat it later, and it's easier to mix the seasoned salad, but this is optional. So, put it in small portions on a cutting board and chop it slightly.
3. Put the cabbage in a deep comfortable bowl, add chopped fresh dill and green onions to it. Onions can be cut into thin half rings or very small cubes - whichever you prefer. We add all this to the bowl.
4. We dress the salad with delicious vegetable oil - it can be olive, flaxseed, sesame, corn and even grape seeds, the main thing is that it is aromatic and healthy.
5. If desired, pepper the salad, mix it thoroughly with a spoon and leave it to stand for a while before serving, the onion will be pickled and will not be bitter.
Ready-made sauerkraut salad can be served not only for a family lunch or dinner, it is an ideal snack for spirits on any festive table at all times.
