Pastry with apples is a classic autumn dessert. This is especially true during the season. The variety of apple pie recipes provides a huge selection. The scent of apples fills the house with joy, warmth and a sense of coziness. Today we'll make an American apple and cinnamon pie. Delicious filling, crispy layered dough, aroma of spices - a feeling of happiness is guaranteed!

Ingredients:

For the test:

Flour - 450 grams

Butter - 300 grams

Ice water - 150 ml.

Salt - 1 tsp

For filling:

Apples - 1 kg.

Cornstarch - 25 grams

Flour - 25 grams

Sugar - 150 grams

Butter - 30 grams

Cinnamon - 0.5 tsp

Yolk for smearing

Course of action:

1. Prepare foods according to the list. Sift the flour through a sieve with salt. Cool water in a glass in the refrigerator.

2. Pour flour onto a work surface. Add chilled butter and chop with a knife, mixing with flour. Do not knead the dough with your hands, the butter should remain cold.

3. Pour the resulting flour crumbs into a bowl.

4. Add ice water to the dry mixture.

5. Knead the dough. This should be done quickly so that the oil does not melt from the warmth of your hands. Just try to collect the dough into a single lump. It doesn't have to be uniform.

6. Cover the bowl with the dough with cling film and refrigerate for two hours.

7. Peel and core the apples, cut into slices. You can sprinkle them with lemon juice to keep them from darkening.

8. To prepare the filling, prepare the food. Melt the butter in the microwave beforehand. If you don't like cinnamon, don't add it.

9. Combine the filling components. To stir thoroughly.

10. Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Divide it into two unequal parts.

11. Roll out most of the dough to a thickness of 3-5 mm. Using a rolling pin, transfer the layer to a baking dish and gently distribute along the bottom and sides.

12. Cut off excess dough.

13. Lay out the apple filling and distribute it evenly around the entire perimeter.

14. Roll out the remaining dough, cut into strips and form a grid over the blank.

15. Brush with yolk.

16. Bake in an oven heated to 180 degrees for about 60 minutes.

17. Serve the apple-cinnamon pie, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

18. It is advisable to cool the baked goods before cutting, so the filling will keep its shape better.
