With the New Year holidays approaching, many hostesses think over the festive menu in advance. 2019 is the Year of the Pig, which means that there should be no pork dishes on the table so as not to “offend” the hostess of the year, but decorating it in a thematic style is a sign of respect for Piggy.
One of the options for a festive snack is sandwiches with red caviar. Seems unusual? Sandwiches are like sandwiches! But you can show your imagination and now on the table is not just a sandwich or canapes, but funny faces of pigs.
Ingredients:
Toast bread (slicing) - 6 pcs.
Red caviar (salted) - 6 tsp
Semi-hard cheese - 2 slices
Butter (soft) - 50 g
Fresh dill - 2 branches
Pitted olives - 5 pcs.
Step by step recipe:
1. Prepare the ingredients: remove the butter from the refrigerator beforehand to soften cut a piece of cheese 1-2 thin slices, the bread can be pre-dried in the oven or dry frying pan.
In addition to food, prepare molds and other suitable tools to cut out the elements for the faces.
2. Using a round cookie cutter, cut out the round pieces to form the base for the sandwiches.
3. In addition to pigs, you can also make Christmas tree-shaped sandwiches. It's great if there is a suitable mold, but if not, then the figures can be cut out with a knife.
Grease each piece with a thin layer of butter.
4. First, decorate the Christmas trees, everything is simple with them: spread dill around the edges, imitating needles, and put red caviar in the center of each sandwich.
5. And now the most interesting thing: put 1 tsp each on greased bread circles. caviar and spread it evenly over the entire surface.
6. Cut out small triangles from the cheese - these will be the piglets' ears. Then - small circles - spots. To make them really look like them, use a toothpick to make two holes in each circle. And finally, the eyes: they can be cut from olives, helping yourself with a cocktail tube. And from the scraps of olives you get a mouth.
7. The details are ready, now you can assemble the faces of the pigs.
