Inexpensive, but tasty, nutritious and healthy wheat groats will diversify your daily diet and become a worthy alternative to rice and buckwheat. Together with meat and vegetables, "unpretentious" porridge is not inferior to pilaf and all kinds of cereal side dishes with gravy.

Ingredients:

Wheat groats - 300 g

Pork - 300 g

Chicken fillet - 200 g

Carrots - 1 pc.

Onions - 1 pc.

Tomato - 1 pc.

Garlic - 2 teeth

Vegetable oil - 30 ml

Water - 200 ml

Salt, hot pepper, bay leaf - to taste

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - To cook wheat porridge with meat, take the foods on the list. There are two types of meat pulp in my recipe: chicken and pork. If you want, replace it with beef, veal, lamb, turkey - whatever you like. Usually, the wheat grits of the debt are cooked, often sticks to the sides of the pan, from which it burns. To speed up the process, leave the bowl of cereals in cold water the night before and start cooking the next day. In a swollen form, it softens rather.

Step 2 - So, we wash the wheat grits several times under running cold water. As a rule, there is a lot of turbidity from crushed grains. Fill with about double the volume of water and let stand overnight or 6-8 hours at room temperature. After swelling, rinse one more time. At the same time, on a clean tomato, we make a cross-shaped incision and lower it for 10 minutes in a bowl with boiling water. Then peel the scalded tomato from the tough skin.

Step 3 - First, pass the chopped onion in hot, lean refined oil (corn or sunflower). After a couple of minutes, add randomly chopped carrots, stir and fry for another 2-3 minutes.

Step 4 - Cut the meat into pieces of the same size, load with vegetables and mix. Saturate with oil and bring to a light crust.

Step 5 - For the sake of enhancing the taste of wheat grits with meat, throw in fresh tomato cubes (or add a spoonful of tomato sauce).

Step 6 - At the bottom of the cauldron, leave the pork with chicken and vegetables, spread the wheat grits on top, level them.

Step 7 - Pour in boiling water, salt, season with black pepper, put bay leaf. Boil again, reduce heat and simmer under the lid until tender for about 30 minutes.

Step 8 - Try it, add boiling water if necessary, increase the cooking time. Stir the dish before serving.

We serve tender wheat porridge with hot meat, ideally with pickles, fresh vegetables and herbs.
