If you still haven't decided on a side dish for your New Year's table, try this recipe for potatoes and bacon. The dish is prepared very simply, and apart from the baking time, it is also fast. In addition, everyone loves potatoes; few people at the festive table will refuse a ruddy and fragrant portion. The dish is tasty, hearty and beautiful in appearance - what else is needed for a successful feast? I am sure that the recipe that has lived in my family for many years will become your favorite too.
Ingredients:
Large potatoes - 6 pcs.
Bacon - 150 g
Lean oil - 2 tablespoons
Thyme - a few twigs
Sea salt - to taste
Ground black pepper - to taste
How to cook:
To bake potatoes in the oven using this recipe, prepare the foods on the list. Wash the potatoes under running water with a hard kitchen sponge, wipe them dry with paper towels. Rinse and dry the thyme sprigs too.
Place the tubers on a cutting board, cut each in half lengthwise into two halves of equal thickness. In general, for this dish it is better to take potatoes of about the same size, then they will cook in the same way in time.
Line a baking sheet with cooking foil on the shiny side. Place the cut potato halves on top, cut up. Lightly grease each cut with lean, refined, odorless oil. This will give the potatoes a nice golden brown crust.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated convection oven for 40 minutes.
After a while, remove the potatoes from the oven and put the bacon cut into thin slices on one half, and sprinkle the second part with salt, pepper and fresh thyme leaves. Return the baking sheet to the oven for another 5 minutes.
When the bacon is slightly melted, remove the cooked potatoes from the oven, combine the two halves - with bacon and thyme - fasten them with a wooden skewer or a toothpick to hold well.
Serve hot as a side dish, although baked potatoes and bacon are also great for a hot snack.
Enjoy!
