There is nothing easier than frying a pumpkin in a pan. This will take you about 8-10 minutes, not counting the time for cleaning and rinsing the vegetable. The pumpkin garnish created in this way can be served with any meat dish, with baked or boiled fish, etc.
To emphasize the sweetness of the vegetable, add a couple of pinches of sugar and other spices when frying, for example: dried ground thyme, oregano, rosemary. Frying is best in vegetable oil if you are cooking an unsweetened side dish, or in butter if you plan to serve fried pumpkin for children.
When buying a vegetable, do not hesitate to smell it - ripe fruits emit a very strong sweetish aroma. It is from these that juicy dishes are obtained. Optionally, you can freeze some of the pumpkin in the freezer to have it handy when you need it.

Ingredients:
Pumpkin - 400 g
Vegetable oil - 40 ml
Salt and pepper to taste
Greens for serving
Step by step recipe:
Prepare everything you need from the list for the recipe.
Rinse the pumpkin in water to remove dirt, dry lightly with paper towels and cut in half. Scrub the seeds, peel and rinse again.
Cut the pumpkin pulp into slices and then into cubes.
Remember that the larger the slices, the longer it will take to cook the dish. If you wish, you can cut the pumpkin into large pieces, and after frying, simmer a little by adding water to the pan and covering with a lid.
Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan, place it on the stove and heat it up. Then reduce the heat to medium and add the pumpkin slices. Stir immediately.
Fry for about 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then season with salt and pepper. Add other spices or herbs as desired. At the very end, cover the container with a lid, reduce the heat to minimum and steam for another 1-2 minutes so that the pumpkin is cooked inside.
Place the finished dish on plates. Rinse fresh dill or parsley, dry and chop, sprinkle roasted pumpkin on top. Serve it hot, if desired, even in the frying pan itself. It is especially tasty with sour cream or other low-fat sauces.
