Beautiful inscriptions on the packaging with the product is good, but you still need to understand what is meant by the term “organic products”. So, first of all, if we talk about fruits and vegetables, this means that they were grown without the use of pesticides or artificial fertilizers. If we talk about meat, it means that the animals did not feed on antibiotics, hormones.

Everything seems simple! But you need to understand a little more.

Pesticides

Pesticides are a "scarecrow" used for buyers of vegetables and fruits. There is so much talk about this, but not everyone understands what exactly is meant by this concept. Pesticides are poisons that help prevent diseases and pests. But it should be understood that pesticides can be not only artificial.

And natural ones are necessarily used, since without them it is very problematic to grow something.

Thus, the presence of the label “Organic product” does not in any way indicate that the plants are not treated with pesticides, just the poisons are of natural origin.

Is it more nutritious?

In part, this opinion is true. According to a number of studies, organic products are more beneficial: they contain more ascorbic acid, antioxidants, which preserves the body's defenses and slows down aging.

Yes, organic foods are healthy. First, it contains fewer chemicals, more nutrients.

But it is important to bear in mind that the statement that "natural is useful" is not entirely true. All the same, in their production, they use natural feeding, pesticides. Therefore, in some cases, there is not much difference. The main difference is the price.

How to Avoid Marketing Tricks?

Eating truly wholesome organic foods requires a skeptical approach to marketing. It is also important to understand such concepts as “bio”, “ECO”, organic ”.

For example, the concept "bio" was coined by marketers. This word can be applied to any products of biological origin: kefir, fruits, etc. Therefore, overpaying for a label with "bio" is simply pointless.

With the concept of "IVF" is a little more complicated. So, organic products are those in the production of which the manufacturer tried to minimize the risk to the environment. Formally, it takes less time for nature, but in fact, little changes.

What products are worth buying?

If we are talking directly about organic products, then not all products labeled "Organic" are worth buying.

It should be borne in mind that, for example, avocados, lemons, fruits with thick peels are less susceptible to pesticides. But berries, herbs, spinach are stronger. Therefore, it is better to buy the ones labeled "Organic", they are safer.
