What to look for?

Knowing what exactly a certain product is made from, we can avoid the ingestion of carcinogens and harmful substances into the body.

The most striking example is foods with zero fat content. Many believe that in this way they can reduce calories. However, in practice, it turns out to be completely different: low-fat products lose all their taste. And to make them pleasant to consume, manufacturers add sugar, stabilizers and other additives that adversely affect the stomach, metabolism, and can cause overeating.

She also answered the question of how to understand whether the label “Non-GMO”, “100% natural product”, etc. is true.

The doctor noted that it is also important to be careful here. For example, if a product says that it is prepared without sugar, it is important to understand what has been replaced with a harmful artificial sweetener or fructose. Moreover, the latter is prepared on the basis of sugar and cheap food syrup, and fructose is more dangerous for our body, because its regular use can lead to various metabolic problems.

It is best to choose foods that replace sugar with natural sweeteners such as stevia.

The doctor noted that today we do not live in an ideal world - it is very difficult to find an absolutely pure product without any additives. Therefore, it is best to choose all foods that have a short shelf life. Yes, any additives make the product tastier and more beautiful. But at the same time, the level of harm to the body increases.

The main wish of Natalia Zubareva is to read labels and try to buy products with a minimum of additives.

If the label contains ingredients unknown to you, then it is advisable to refuse such a product, especially for women during pregnancy and lactation. At this time, even a familiar product can act strangely due to the characteristics and changes that occur in the body. It is necessary to take care of your diet and allergy sufferers, do not introduce dramatically new food products into the diet.
