If you like rustic potatoes at McDonald's, then you can easily bake them at home in an oven or multicooker, airglil. The main thing is not to add garlic to the marinade, otherwise it will burn during baking. The garlic flavor will last if you press the peeled cloves into hot potatoes, and then gently mix everything, let it steam for about 1 minute, for example, in a parchment paper. Don't forget about colorful and aromatic spices and herbs: ground sweet paprika, dried thyme or oregano, etc.
The potatoes are baked in their skins without adding water to prevent crumbling. It is best to purchase varieties not for cooking - they are just very crumbly and do not hold their shape after cooking. To make the slices bright and colorful, mix the paprika with vegetable oil.
Ingredients:
Potatoes - 6 pcs.
Ground sweet paprika - 1 tsp top (10 g)
Salt - 0.5 tsp
Ground black pepper - 2 pinches
Dried thyme - 0.5 tsp
Vegetable oil - 50 ml
Garlic - 3 cloves
How to cook:
Prepare food.
Rinse the potato tubers in water, brushing off the dirt from the peel with the hard side of the sponge. Wash as thoroughly as possible so that dust and dirt do not get caught when tasting the dish!
Cut the washed potatoes in half and cut each half into slices. Transfer the slices to a deep bowl or container where they can be mixed with the spices.
Add salt and dried thyme. It can be replaced with ground oregano, rosemary, a mixture of Italian herbs - choose the spices to your liking.
Add ground sweet paprika, black pepper and pour in odorless vegetable oil (olive, sunflower, corn, etc.).
Mix the contents of the container thoroughly. The paprika will transfer its color to the oily base and colorful oil will envelop each potato slice.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or prepare a baking dish. Arrange the potato slices, skin side down. If possible, try to lay them out so that they do not touch each other.
Preheat oven to 180-200 degrees.
Place the dish or baking sheet in the oven in the middle and bake for about 35-40 minutes, being careful not to burn the dish.
Check the readiness of the potatoes by piercing the slices with a knife or wooden skewer. As soon as the dish is ready, remove the dish from the oven.
Peel the garlic cloves and rinse.
Press them into potato slices right in the mold, or transfer them to another container on parchment paper. Stir gently and let sit for 1-2 minutes to soak in the aroma.
Serve rustic potatoes like from McDonald's to the table hot, you can with ketchup or garlic sauce, low-fat mayonnaise.
