Beef stew with potatoes is pretty easy to make. This hearty and tasty second course is perfect for a dinner table or dinner.
It will take about 1-1.5 hours to make the beef meat juicy, tender and soft. The recipe contains very simple ingredients. You can supplement them with other vegetables, for example, tomatoes, bell peppers, cabbage, zucchini or eggplant.
Ingredients:
- Potatoes - 370 g
- Carrots - 100 g
- Onions - 120 g
- Tomato paste - 60 g
- Beef - 350 g
- Garlic - 10 g
- Meat broth - 250 ml
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Vegetable oil - 30 g
- Salt to taste
- Greens to taste
- Dried dill - 1 tsp
Step by step recipe:
Weigh and prepare all the required products. If there are no scales, take everything "by eye".
Instead of broth, you can use mushroom / vegetable or water. Any part is suitable from meat, even beef ribs.
Cut the beef into portions.
Prepare a deep frying pan, cauldron or thick-walled saucepan. Pour in oil and send over high heat. Warm up well. Lower the beef. Fry over medium heat until the color changes to a lighter one. Stir from time to time so that all pieces are fried evenly.
Peel the onions and carrots. Cut vegetables into large pieces. Pour into meat. Mix. Fry over high heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally with a spatula.
Pour in hot broth. Add tomato paste. Mix. Let it boil. Then make a small fire, cover and simmer until the beef is tender, about 40-50 minutes.
Peel and rinse potatoes. Cut into large slices. Add to the cauldron when the meat pieces are well tender. Mix. Cook from the moment of boiling for 15-25 minutes, until the potatoes are soft.
Peel the garlic and crush with a knife. Add dried dill, crushed garlic cloves, salt and pepper to taste into the cauldron. Stir the dish and boil for 1-2 minutes.
Add chopped greens. Mix. Beef stew with potatoes is ready.
Serve hot.
