A delicious dish that many people know and love. It can be prepared in different ways depending on the occasion. For a daily meal, the option of stewed potatoes with beef in a pan is suitable, which provided in this recipe, and for a festive feast you can make such a dish in portions pots. Pickled or fresh vegetables are an indispensable addition. When choosing meat, rely on your taste, beef can be replaced with pork or poultry, it will also turn out delicious. I recommend trying it!
Ingredients:
Potatoes - 1.2 kg.
Beef - 400 g.
Carrots - 1 pc.
Bulb onions - 1 pc.
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper - to taste
Bay leaf - 2 pcs.
Dill - 3 branches
Vegetable oil - 3 tablespoons
Water - 1.5 liters.
Step by step recipe:
1. Prepare the required set of ingredients. When choosing products for this dish, give preference to fresh rather than frozen meat, and starchy potatoes that boil well.
2. Wash the beef (any parts of it), pat dry with a paper towel and cut into pieces of the desired size. Heat the oil in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and add the meat. Fry it over high heat. At this stage, the main thing is not to cook, but to achieve a golden brown crust.
3. Peel vegetables. Dice the onion, grate the carrots or chop the carrots. Send the vegetables to a saucepan and cook with the beef until tender. Remember to stir occasionally to avoid burning anything. Season with salt and spices to taste.
4. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Then lower heat, cover and cook for about 40-60 minutes. It should be soft and pierce easily with a fork or knife.
5. Meanwhile, chop the peeled potatoes at random. The size and shape of the slices depends on your taste. Put the potatoes in a saucepan on top of the meat, salt and, without stirring, simmer everything together for another 30 minutes over very low heat.
6. Then add bay leaf, finely chopped dill and black pepper to the pan. As for dill, it can be replaced with any other greens that are available.
7. Simmer for a couple more minutes and remove the pan from heat.
8. Gently, trying to lift all layers from the very bottom, stir the dish.
9. That's all. A delicious stew with beef is ready.
Serve this dish hot with fresh or pickled vegetables.
