In seasonal cold weather the most delicious and healthy drink is orange compote. It will not only endow you with useful vitamins and microelements, but also charge you with a good mood for the whole day - it is so positive and colorful. To further emphasize the taste of citrus fruits in the drink, add a little lemon - it levels the sweetness of the compote and gives it a slight sourness.

It is advisable to buy oranges on the eve of New Year's holidays - there are many of them in every store and their prices are much lower than in spring, summer or autumn. Be sure to smell them before buying - the peel should exude a fresh smell, but sometimes careless suppliers rub fruits with some chemical substance, so set aside such fruits - the compote from them will have an unpleasant smack.

Ingredients:

Water - 1.5 l

Oranges - 2 pcs. (large)

Lemon - 0.25 pcs.

Sugar - 1 tbsp.

How to cook:

1. To make the orange peel more aromatic, wash the purchased citrus fruits in water, place in a bowl and pour over boiling water for 20-30 seconds, but no more. It is necessary not to scald the peel, but slightly warm it up so that the aromatic oil is released. After that, rub the zest, trying not to allow crushing the white layer under it - the compote will turn out to be bitter. Thus, peel off the zest from both oranges.

2. After that, peel them from the peel - remove it, you will no longer need it when brewing a drink. Divide citrus fruits into slices, cut tight joints from them. If they contain bones, try to remove them. Cut the fruit pulp into pieces.

3. Transfer the orange mixture to a deep saucepan or saucepan.

4. Cut a quarter of the lemon into slices, slices, or cubes as desired. Add to the bowl with the oranges. By the way, in the absence of fresh lemon, it is permissible to replace it with citric acid or concentrated lemon juice.

5. Add granulated sugar and grated orange zest. If your children or other relatives do not like cloudy compotes, then place the zest in a gauze bag and dip it into a container - it will give the liquid its color and aroma, while the drink will remain light and transparent.

6. Pour in warm water and place the saucepan on the stove, bring its contents to a boil on maximum heat, then reduce it and simmer the drink for about 20-25 minutes on medium heat. As soon as the orange mass gives its color and aroma to the liquid - the compote is completely ready, be sure to taste it. Correct if necessary.

Pour the orange compote hot into cups or glasses, serve with fresh pastries, preferably in the morning!
