Donuts on kefir are prepared very easily, because you do not need to knead the dough for a long time, unlike their counterpart with yeast. Everything here is extremely simple - the ingredients are mixed, the resulting dough is rolled out, blanks are made using the mold. The crumpets according to this recipe are fried in oil in a pan, thanks to this, they are less fatty than if they were deep-fried. They can be made both sweet and savory. Sweet pastries will complement tea, and salty pastries will complement any first and second courses.

Donuts on kefir remain soft for a long amount of time, just cover them with a towel.

Ingredients:

Kefir - 300 ml.

Egg - 1 pc.

Sugar - 4 tablespoons

Salt - a pinch

Flour - 500 gr.

Soda - 0.5 tsp.

Vegetable oil in the dough - 3 tablespoons

Vegetable oil for frying - 150 ml.

Prepare food.

Beat an egg into a deep container, add sugar and salt.

Whisk the ingredients thoroughly to form a homogeneous mixture with foam on top.

Pour kefir at room temperature into the egg mass, stir with a whisk, add butter.

Then add flour in small portions, stir in parallel, getting a thick mixture. At the same moment, add pure baking soda (you do not need to extinguish it).

When all the flour has been added, start stirring with your hands. You should have a firm and elastic dough that will stick a little to your hands.

Sprinkle a large board with flour. Divide the dough into 2 or 3 equal parts. First, roll out one of them by placing it on a board. It is not necessary to roll out very thinly, the thickness of the layer should be about 0.5 cm. Use a small glass or any mold to squeeze out the round pieces. Do this with the whole test.

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Pour in the oil, heat it well too. The amount depends on the diameter of the pan, but it should be enough to keep a third of the crumpets in the oil.

Place the dough pieces in the pan. Fry them on both sides for about 3 minutes each. The exact cooking time can be determined by the appearance of a golden crust on top. Cover the pan with a lid when frying donuts, then they rise well.

Place all the fried crumpets on a napkin to absorb the excess oil, then transfer them to the main course. Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar.
