Tasting in the store: a free snack or a direct route to poisoning?

Several years ago a cheese tasting took place at Pyaterochka. There were many people - a huge line lined up for free cheeses. Many people like this, because before buying a product, they so want to try it.

This idea seems to be very correct, but if we weigh all the pros and cons, it becomes obvious that tasting has many more disadvantages.

Who pays for the tasting

The fact is that many sellers do not like tasting. And they are very negative about them, because as it turned out, such a "holiday" for buyers is paid from their pockets.

All products placed on the rack are written off as spoiled. As a result, the cost is deducted from the salaries of the sellers (or rather, they are simply reduced the premium), but you cannot refuse.

Can you attract customers through tasting?

Yes, tasting can be beneficial in large supermarkets and high-end stores. This is due to the fact that such places are usually visited by people with large incomes - they can evaluate the product and, in the future, they will buy it (if they like it).

But in budget stores, tastings work a little differently - people want to have a snack and not buy goods.

And their owners know about it. Therefore, the goods on the racks are not always of good quality.

What is the danger of such food?

The most serious argument is the low quality of the products on the tasting stands. This is important to understand, since goods are usually placed there that are going to be written off, for example, due to improper storage or expired shelf life.

In addition, the goods for tasting are laid out in the morning. If you come to the store in the evening, it can lead to poisoning. It is also unknown who and with what knife cut cheese or other products.

You also need to remember that in fact a quality product does not need to be advertised like this. Therefore, the counters usually display goods from little-known manufacturers.

Of course, for poor people, tasting is one way to get a free snack. Still, you should not try products from the racks.

Other findings:

  • From the pieces of products, you cannot find out the real time when the product was manufactured.
  • In budget stores, old products are sent to the counters (most often). In addition, they can lie in unsuitable conditions for a long time, which can lead to the rapid development of bacteria.
  • In addition, the danger is that there are a lot of people in the store during the tastings. Nobody knows who touched the food before you, what these people are sick with.

Therefore, if you participate in tastings, then in large and expensive stores - they will not slip spoiled goods in them for the sake of a momentary benefit.
