Beets with prunes and garlic are a very colorful and juicy dish with a velvety aftertaste. It stands out so clearly from the rest of the snacks that you want to eat it completely, without leaving it for later.
The presence of garlic in the salad makes it very spicy, so this dish is ideal for adults, while children bypass it. But it is the garlic note that gives off the sweetness of the beets and the smoked aroma of the prunes. By the way, if you leave the salad in the refrigerator overnight, the garlic taste will only intensify.
Ingredients:
Baked beets - 4 pcs.
Smoked prunes - 200 g
Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
Garlic - 4 cloves
Salt and pepper to taste
How to cook:
Prepare food. When buying beets, choose not fodder varieties, but sweet and juicy beets. It is advisable to purchase prunes without pits, smoked, and not dried.
Those who do not like mayonnaise should replace it with sour cream of any fat content or thick classic yogurt.
Bake the beets in foil in the oven in advance, or boil and cool, as hot ingredients reduce the shelf life of the created dish to several hours.
Rinse prunes in water and place in a deep container. So that it is not too dry in a dish, steam it in boiling water 20 minutes before preparing the salad, or boil it for 5 minutes.
At this time, peel the beets. Rinse the root vegetables under running water and grate with a fine mesh into a deep container. You can also use a coarse grater - as you please!
Place the prunes in a colander and let the liquid drain for about 5 minutes, then remove the seeds from it, if any. Cut into pieces and add to the bowl to the beetroot mass.
Top with mayonnaise. Peel the garlic cloves, rinse them under running water and press into a container or finely and finely chop if there is no special press. Replace fresh garlic with permissible dried ground in the amount of 0.5 tsp.
Stir the dish gently. Place in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes to brighten the garlic flavor.
Place the beetroot salad with prunes on the plates. You can decorate it figuratively using culinary rings or squares. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve.
