There are many options for puff pastries. Today we will bake a puff pastry pie with chicken. It is prepared with the addition of hard cheese, and hot melted cheese shavings with chicken are very successfully combined with crumbly puff pastry. There is also fried onions in the filling, which gives the pie both piquancy and sweetish taste. In general, the recipe deserves special attention. Ingredients:
Puff pastry - 400 gr.
Bulb onions - 3 pcs.
Chicken fillet - 500 gr.
Vegetable oil - 40 ml.
Garlic - 1 zbchk.
Hard cheese - 120 gr.
Chicken egg - 1 pc.
Sesame seeds - 1 tsp
Salt and spices to taste
Step by step recipe:
We prepare the necessary products according to the list. Remove the puff pastry from the freezer in advance, 30-40 minutes before cooking. Be sure to defrost by separating the halves.
Use the chicken fillet that is not completely thawed, or if you have it chilled, send it to the freezer to freeze a little.
Peel the onion heads, rinse and chop into half rings.
Cut the meat into slices, no more than one centimeter thick.
Fry onions in vegetable oil until translucent.
Roll out the puff pastry. Cover the baking dish with parchment. My size is 20 * 35 cm. We put the dough in a mold, making small sides. Put the fried onions on top.
Next - the chicken slices overlap each other. Pour the oil on which the onions were fried. Sprinkle with spices and salt to taste.
Sprinkle the filling evenly with grated cheese on a medium grater.
Roll out the second layer of puff pastry with the addition of flour. We cover the filling with it, pinch the edges of the workpiece. We make punctures in the dough with a fork or knife, grease the raw pie with yolk. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
We bake at a temperature of 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes in a preheated oven, until golden brown.
Let the finished puff pastry with chicken and cheese cool slightly and bring it to the table. Can be served with soup or broth, or just to tea.
