Grilled potatoes on skewers

When planning a picnic or a trip to nature, be sure to cook potatoes on the grill - hardly any family or guests can refuse such a delicious dish. So that the vegetable slices do not remain raw after frying, choose friable potatoes and do not string the sliced ​​root vegetable rings onto skewers too tightly. At the same time, you can leave the tubers in the peel by thoroughly washing it with a sponge (this is especially true if the potatoes are young, early). However, you can peel it off with a peeler or knife. To make the dish more aromatic and satisfying, it is advisable to string pieces of bacon or meat with greasy veins between the potato slices (only they need to be cut very thinly).

Ingredients:

Potatoes - 5 pcs.

Pork (brisket) - 150 g

Ground paprika - 1 tsp

Salt - 0.5 tsp

Ground black pepper - 4 pinches

Vegetable oil - 1 tsp

How to cook:

1. Prepare the food you need. Choose potato tubers that are the same size and meat with greasy veins to melt the fat during frying and saturate the potato slices with fat.

2. Thoroughly rinse the roots with a hard-bristled sponge or peel off the rind with a knife. Rinse under running water and cut into slices no more than 0.5 cm wide. Place the potato slices in a deep bowl or container, leaving some space on top.

3. Rinse the pork, if it is the pork belly, then cut off the skin. Cut the meat into thin slices and add to the bowl with the vegetable slices. If you wish, you can use smoked bacon or smoked pork belly - this product will give the dish a brighter taste.

4. Add salt, ground black pepper and paprika. If the dish will be eaten only by adults, then you can add a little dried garlic and / or ground hot red pepper - literally two pinches.

5. Pour in the vegetable oil and mix thoroughly, being careful not to break the rings of the potatoes, but at the same time envelop them in spices. Leave for 20-30 minutes in refrigerator.

6. Before frying, string potato slices alternately with pieces of meat or lard on skewers, trying not to move the slices close to each other, otherwise the kebab will not bake in the middle and will remain raw.

7. Place the potato and pork skewers on the grill and sauté for 15 minutes in medium heat, occasionally turning to the other side for even cooking. Be sure to pierce the pieces with a knife to make sure they are done.

Put potato skewers with meat on skewers from the grill on a dish and serve hot along with sauces and fresh vegetables, herbs.
