I tried this onion dish a few years ago with my friend. And what was my surprise when I learned that this dish consists of a large amount of onions. It was not felt at all... And since then, I regularly cook this onion caviar. It turns out very tasty and budgetary. I am sure you will also like this caviar! That's not a bit worse than zucchini caviar.

I have 3 large onions weighing 450 grams.
First, I will finely chop the onion.
Grated carrots.
I heat up a frying pan with three tablespoons of vegetable oil.
I cook the onion over low heat until transparent for about 5 minutes. Do not forget to stir so as not to burn.
I add the carrots, stir and continue cooking for a few more minutes.
In the meantime, I peel the apple off. I recommend taking a sweet and sour apple.
I rub it on a grater.
Pour the apple with a teaspoon of lemon juice and stir. So it won't darken.
I add the apple to the onions and carrots.
I will also add spices - bay leaves, allspice, cloves and black ground pepper. Salt to taste.
I pour 300 ml into a frying pan. clean cold water.
Carcass caviar over a slightly lower than medium heat without a lid until the liquid evaporates. Do not forget to stir periodically.
After 25 minutes, the liquid has evaporated.
Now I recommend trying it, if the vegetables are soft, then turn them off. If the onions and carrots do not seem soft enough for you, add another 50 ml. water and continue to simmer until the liquid evaporates.
My vegetables are soft, I turn off the heat and take out bay leaves, allspice and cloves. They have already given their aroma to our dish.
Add chopped clove of garlic to the caviar and mix.
I put the caviar in a saucepan and grind it with an immersion blender.
I wait until it cools down and you can eat!
