I have several recipes, thanks to which we have long abandoned store-bought sausages and other ready-made meat products. And today I will share one of these recipes - baked pork belly. Well, it's very simple to prepare! And it turns out tastier than any sausage! I sometimes prepare such an appetizer for the festive table, most often for Easter.
In a small container I mix dry garlic, paprika, red hot and black pepper. I washed and dried the brisket well beforehand. I cut them into convenient pieces (I have about 350 g each). I rub each piece on all sides with salt and spices.
I always use this baking paper for this recipe. Foil will not work here. You need to bake it in paper. I cut off a few pieces of parchment. The size should be such that a piece of brisket can be easily wrapped in it.
I spread a piece of brisket on paper, on top - pink peppercorns (a little) and a bay leaf. I wrap the edges of the paper so that it turns out to be an envelope (in the video I showed how easy this is to do). I put the envelopes on a baking sheet and leave on the table for 1.5 hours to marinate. Then I put it in an oven preheated to 180 ˚C for 40-50 minutes.
Here's what happens. It looks very appetizing. And the aroma is such that it's hard to resist not to try. The first bite is hot. But when cold, such a snack is even tastier! If I cook long before the holiday, I freeze the finished brisket, and before serving, I take it out of the freezer and cut it.
