Delicious and inexpensive cutlets that can be served hot or cold. You can even without a side dish. And the recipe is the simplest!
I often cook these cutlets from sardine or tuna. But once I tried it with sprat - and we really liked them!
Chop the sprat with a fork and finely chop the onion. But I make it easier - I grind everything in a blender. If there is a lot of liquid in the sprat, it is better to drain it.
I pre-boil rice in salted water. You can use rice left over from dinner, for example.
I add an egg to the rice.
I am also sending sprat and onions here. You can add spices and salt. But we have enough spices in canned food))
I'm mixing it all up. If it's watery, I add a little flour (or semolina). And I let the "test" stand for about 15 minutes.
Then I form the cutlets. And I roll them in breadcrumbs.
You can use semolina or flour as a breading. But what I like best is bread crumbs.
I fry the cutlets over low heat on both sides until a delicious golden brown crust.
Spread it on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
From a can of sprat and a glass of rice, you get such a mountain of cutlets:
