The recipe is very simple. And there is nothing new and unusual in it. But lately I've been pickling tomatoes in half with onions - it tastes better!
Here are the products you need for a 2 liter jar. For this recipe, I usually take cherry tomatoes and I also choose small onions. But you can, of course, just cut the medium onion into 2 or 4 pieces.
RECIPE:
For 2 liter jars:
• Cherry tomatoes - 800 g
• Onions (small) - 800 g
• Sweet pepper - 1 pc.
• Dill
• Parsley
• Allspice (peas) - 10 pcs.
• Black pepper (peas) - 20 pcs.
• Coriander (peas) - 20 pcs.
• Garlic - 4-6 teeth.
For the marinade:
• Water - 1 l
• Salt - 2 tbsp. (no slide)
• Sugar - 2 tbsp. (with a slide)
• Vinegar 9% - 50 ml
• Bay leaf - 2 pcs.
How to cook
At the bottom of the jar I put herbs, peppercorns and coriander, garlic and a few pieces of sweet pepper. Then I fill the jar with onions so that it fills about half of the jar. And tomatoes. I prick them with a toothpick in the place where the tail was, so that the skin does not burst from the boiling water.
I fill the jars with boiling water and cover them with lids.
After 10-15 minutes, pour the water into a saucepan. I add up to 1 liter (if there is less water). This also includes salt, sugar, bay leaves and vinegar. I put it on the stove and bring it to a boil.
At this time, I fill the jars with boiling water a second time and let them stand for 10 minutes. Then I drain the "second" water (it will not be useful) and fill it with just boiled marinade.
Immediately I twist the jars with sterile lids, turn them upside down and wrap them up. I leave it like this until it cools completely. Scroll through the gallery and see what happens 👇
