I always have greens in the fridge - both in summer and winter and in general at any time of the year. And sometimes it happens that the sprigs of dill and parsley wither.
Many of these greens are thrown away immediately, although they can, of course, be used for cooking. But I still love it when it is fresh, as if it had just come from the garden.
And today I want to share a simple way to "revive" wilted greenery. I have been using this method for many years.
So, we take the twigs, and cut off the stems a little, literally 5-7 mm. If you come across darkened and obviously spoiled leaves, then, of course, we can not save them in any way.
Pour cold water into a bowl, add a little vinegar to it and lower the herbs. I add about 2 teaspoons to 1-1.5 liters of water. It is important that the water covers all the greens entirely.
Leave for 10-15 minutes, then drain the water, rinse with cold water without vinegar and put the herbs on paper towels. After such soaking, the dill / parsley will be fresh, with no smell or taste of the vinegar felt.
The method is very simple but effective. I found out about him at the grocery market - the saleswoman kindly suggested when I bought parsley from her. I would be glad if this method is useful to you.
