Since yesterday I raised the topic of products with which some people sometimes shame others (mayonnaise is a bright representative such a category), then for the sake of entertainment I will continue it today, because such "shameful" products are a great lots of.
Even in the comments to my publications, if you dig around, a lot of prejudices are found there. True, more often this is not prejudice, but the most, that neither is, vulgar snobbery. Vulgarius - in the sense, ordinary, typical. Although it can be vulgar too.
Go?
Cheap fish varieties
Oh, how much arrogance happens in the comments under the publications of pollock recipes or, God forbid, capelin.
- We buy such fish only for cats - one of the softest.
I am usually silent, and sometimes I remind - cats need to crumble meat. It is possible with small cartilages - to sharpen teeth. Or, at worst, super premium food. Because seals are obligatory predators, fish may be tasty for them, but organisms need meat. At the cat itself, you will listen to the veterinarian - so foie gras and that will be harmful to him, serve beef tenderloin, and even from ecologically clean areas (to be honest, I am not yet capable of such a feat, so Senya is just super-premium feed).
But for some reason people are offended at such an answer, they begin to call names unprintable. If in print, they simply notice that capelin, pollock and other ignoble varieties of fish are consumed by those who have never eaten anything sweeter than carrots.
But in fact, such "budgetary" varieties of fish (in comparison with salmon, or dorado, they are budgetary) can also be tasty. I myself love fatty red fish and dorado with seabass, but I will never give up delicious capelin with a crispy crust or pickled, and a footprint with onions and black bread, and pollock with marinade ...
I do not see anything ashamed in buying them either.
Industrial sausage and so-called "deli meats"
- Sausage from the store is eaten only by rogue! - Somehow they wrote to me in the comments and, what is the funniest thing, this comment has been pasted many times. And commented, they say - decent people do not eat sausage and any meat gastronomy even expensive, because there is a lot of salt and other things. We have to cook everything at home! By yourself! There is an industrial one - it's a shame and fu-fu. Disrespect for yourself and so on and so forth
A colleague who reads the channel laughed and said that next time she would go to the store wearing a mask - so that no one would know what she really is... a beggar. It's funny, but after a very short time, we were all dressed in masks, so now we sometimes tease - scribbled.
But that's not the point, sobsno... I wanted to walk about the "preparation" here.
Never tasted more nasty than layman cooked sausage at home. A long time ago, back in LJ, I started reading Pakhom's blog. Who cares - look for the search. So, he is a professional sausage maker. What he cooks is one thing, but if you don’t know what to put on through the sleeves of the house (namely, it’s not known what many call sausage and meat gastronomy), and you get a product that industrial sausage gives a head start, despite the suspicious compositions.
And the statements that you need to cook everything at home, and buy is a shame, this is snobbery, the most natural. There is nothing shameful about buying sausages, and it is not at all disrespectful to oneself.
What do you think?
PS. What do you buy from the fact that "decent people" do not take? I often dabble in cola ...
