Ingredients (per can of 3 l):
- water - 3 l
- gooseberries - 300 g
- sugar - 250 g
- mint - 1-2 branches
Step by step recipe
1. Pour 3 liters of clean water into a saucepan and put it on the stove to boil.
2. While the water is boiling, prepare a jar of berries and a lid.
Put the lids with rubber bands in a saucepan, fill with water and put on the stove. Boil the lids for 1-2 minutes and drain the hot water.
3. We take a clean 3 liter jar and pour 300 g of washed gooseberries into it. We also put a fairly large sprig of well-washed mint in the jar. If the mint sprigs are smaller, then they need to be put in more.
The water has boiled, remove it from the heat and pour it into a jar with gooseberries. Cover the top with a sterilized lid. So let the jar stand for about 5 minutes.
4. It took 5 minutes, pour 250 g of sugar into a saucepan in which water was boiled. We close the jar with a nylon lid with holes and pour the water into a saucepan with sugar.
5. We put the syrup on the stove and let it boil. At this time, it is advisable to cover the jar with a metal lid again.
6. Pour gooseberries with mint with boiled syrup. Immediately cover the jar with a sterilized lid and roll it up with a seaming machine.
7. Turn the rolled up jar upside down, cover it with a blanket and leave it until it cools completely.
