Casablanca (Casablanca) - translated as "white city" or "white house", this is the largest and most a densely populated city on the Atlantic coast in western Morocco, near the capital of the country - Rabat.

During World War II, Casablanca was one of the three main landing sites for Allied troops in North Africa.

The history of the city of Casablanca is amazing. At various times, this city was ruled by Berber, Roman, Arab, Portuguese, Spanish, French, British and Moroccan authorities.

Moroccan coffee - this original drink was often drunk by the main characters of that cult film.

Moroccan Spiced Coffee is an aromatic blend of excellent ground black coffee and hot, oriental warming herbs and spices. It tastes completely different than regular coffee, with a tart aroma and a soothing warmth.

Morocco, although northern, but Africa. Therefore, a lot of spices are always added to coffee there.

Moroccans have hundreds of recipes for this drink. It often contains cardamom, black pepper, and a pinch of cinnamon. As well as sesame or anise seeds. No cream or milk is added to it, but Moroccan coffee is never without sweetness.

We will make coffee with sesame seeds.

Ingredients:

0.5 l of water
5 h l. ground coffee
1 hour l. sesame seeds
1 hour l. sugar or 1 cube

How to cook:

1. Pour sesame seeds into a Turk or cezve and place it on the fire. Fry sesame seeds until golden brown, but do not overcook. Periodically, the Turk must be shaken.

2. Pour coffee to the sesame seeds and warm it up.

3. Then fill everything with cold water, but not from the tap. Better bottled or from a spring.

4. Without stirring, keep the turk on the fire until the coffee starts to boil.

5. Quickly remove the dishes from the heat, add sugar, now you can stir. Leave the turk on the table for 2 minutes.

6. Put the pot on the fire again and repeat the heating without letting the coffee boil. Give him a rest for two minutes and warm the drink a third time.

7. Only then can the "Casablanca" style Moroccan coffee be poured into cups.

It is advisable to use a strainer so that the sesame seeds do not interfere with enjoying the drink.

That's all!

Enjoy your coffee!
