There are not so many recipes for making mashed potatoes. In addition to potatoes, water, milk, cream, broth, sour cream, kefir, mayonnaise and... seasonings.

Well, everything seems to be known about him, about mashed potatoes, and yet there is still a lot to dance.

For example, make "Fried" mashed potatoes in German style.

Mashed potatoes " Fried" based on German motives

Ingredients:

1-1.5 kg of mashed potatoes (yes, this is the one with a rough yellowish peel)
1 hour l. coarse salt
50 gr. butter
4 tbsp. l. vegetable oil
3 bay leaves
5 allspice peas
1 hour l. seasoning for potatoes (or a mixture of spices and herbs - ideally nutmeg and rosemary)
0.5 l of water

How to cook:

1. Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into medium cubes. Like this.

2. Put butter and vegetable oil on the bottom of a saucepan with a thick bottom or with a non-stick coating. Heat over medium heat. Pour seasoning for potatoes and salt into the heated oil.

3. Put the potato slices in the oil, reduce heat and fry with constant stirring for about 10 minutes. Do not forget to lay allspice and bay leaves at this stage.

The potatoes should catch on from the oil, begin to become transparent at the edges, but not fry. It is very important! That is, slightly simmer the potatoes in oil.

4. Then pour boiling water on top. Those same 0.5 liters. Continue cooking the potatoes until they are fully cooked. There should be just enough water so that it barely covers the pieces of potatoes.

5. Drain the water from the finished potatoes into a separate bowl and mash the potatoes in mashed potatoes.

If necessary, pour in the liquid in which the potatoes were cooked. Stir until desired consistency. Everything! Ready!

This puree has a very unusual taste. Try it yourself. It goes well with any dish.

Yes, it's greasy because of the oil, but in winter this option goes with a bang. Checked!
