Herring can be cooked in many ways, but it is best to add salt to it. If you do everything right, then it turns out yummy... Mmmm...
Whoever has successfully made his own lightly salted herring at least a couple will understand and will never buy store-bought salted herring again.
Recipe How to pickle herring deliciously
Ingredients:
1 kg fresh herring (frozen)
6 tbsp. l. coarse salt without a slide
5-7 peas of allspice
3 tbsp. l. Sahara
4 bay leaves
1 liter of water
1 hour l. black peppercorns
How to cook:
1. Pour water into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
2. Add granulated sugar, table salt, allspice and common pepper, and bay leaf to the water. Boil the marinade over low heat for 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
3. Naturally thawed herring, that is, at room temperature, rinse herring without cutting (including the head and entrails) place in any container (for example, in a plastic container, tray and etc.).
4. Pour the prepared chilled brine onto the fish, cover the dishes and put them in the refrigerator on the lower shelf.
Withstand three days.
5. After three days, get the herring out of the refrigerator and the brine, and then cut it up in your usual way. Pour oil on the fillet and then sprinkle with seasonings, etc. Or, you can simply cut into pieces and mix with the onion.
You can also make sandwiches from it... or herring under a fur coat or any other salad with herring.
Advice: if you get caviar in the herring when cutting fish, then in no case throw it away, but salt and prepare amazingly delicious sandwiches (bread, butter and herring caviar). If it is already salty, then it is even easier.
But just herring with hot boiled potatoes is a perfect combination! And now you know exactly how to salt a delicious herring.
Bon Appetit!
