Prepare such aromatic Baltic sprat pies. It's very simple, satisfying and delicious!

Ingredients:

  • frozen puff pastry (defrost) - 500 g
  • boiled eggs - 3 pcs.
  • sprats in oil - 1 can (240 g)
  • raw egg - 1 pc.
  • sugar - 1 tbsp. l.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • water - 5 tbsp. l.
  • natural vinegar (table 9%) - 3 tbsp. l.

Step by step recipe

1. First, marinate the onion.
Cut the onion into rings.

2. In a bowl in which we will marinate onions, pour water, pour 1 tbsp. l. sugar and add 3 tbsp. l. vinegar. Stir everything until sugar dissolves.
Put the onion in the resulting marinade. While we prepare everything else, the onions will marinate.

3. Cut the boiled eggs into slices.
We cut off the tail of each fish.

4. Roll out a sheet of already thawed puff pastry a little so that the thickness of the dough is about 2 mm.
Cut the rolled sheet into squares with a side of 8-9 cm.

5. Put pickled onions on each square of dough. Put a circle of boiled egg on the onion. Put one sprat diagonally on top of the egg.

6. We fold the opposite corners of the dough on top, greasing them a little with an egg or water so that they stick together.
Transfer the prepared pies to a baking sheet covered with parchment or Teflon paper.

7. Beat one egg. Grease all the pies on top with a beaten egg.

8. We send the pies to a preheated oven up to 200 degrees. We bake for about 15 minutes.

The pies turned out to be soft, fragrant and satisfying. They are delicious both cold and hot.
