Many people prepare such cakes for a festive table. It always turns out beautifully, richly, tasty and very satisfying. They are especially appreciated by men with strong drinks.

Our cake is unusual, it contains several fillings and a delicious sauce.

Liver cake for an appetizer with an interesting layer

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken liver
  • 2 eggs
  • vegetable oil in dough + for frying
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 3-5 tbsp. l. flour (maybe less or more - look at the dough)
  • 1 tbsp. l. mayonnaise + mayonnaise for layer

For filling:

  • fresh champignons
  • onion
  • carrot
  • hard or processed cheese
  • pickled cucumber

For the sauce:

  • 20 gr. butter
  • 1 tbsp. l. vegetable oil
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1.5 tbsp. l. flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dry garlic powder + dry or fresh herbs

How to cook:

1. Pass the liver through a meat grinder. Add eggs, 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil, mayonnaise and salt. Then add flour. Knead a fairly thin dough, like for pancakes, but a little thicker.

2. Grease a frying pan with vegetable oil and heat. Bake the liver cakes on both sides, greasing the pan after every other. Can also be baked dry.

3. Prepare the béchamel sauce. To do this, melt butter in a saucepan, pour in vegetable oil. Fry the flour in butter and pour in milk in a thin stream. Stir the sauce constantly until it thickens and all the lumps disappear.

Salt and pepper. Season to taste with ground garlic powder and herbs. Boil to the desired density.

4. We have different fillings - this is the highlight of the recipe.

Therefore, at first, onions are fried in half rings until caramel color in oil.

Next, you need to fry the mushrooms separately with slices. And the third filling is to sprinkle the carrots with onions, and the fourth is to grate the pickled cucumber. And, of course, we rub the cheese. All in different plates.

You can go further and, if there are liver cakes, make more fillings such as boiled chopped eggs with cheese and mayonnaise, fresh tomatoes in thin slices, chopped olives or a mixture of grated cheese with garlic and herbs in mayonnaise.

5. We collect the snack cake: put the first liver cake and grease it with a thin layer of mayonnaise, then the first filling of carrots and onions, pour everything generously with béchamel sauce.

6. Again cake + mayonnaise + grated cheese and a little sauce. The next layer of cake is mayonnaise, onion half rings, mushrooms and béchamel sauce.

Put another crust, mayonnaise and grated cucumber on the filling. You do not need to fill it with sauce. Cover with liver crust, cover with mayonnaise and lay in the last carrot and onion filling.

You can cover the structure with a crust, sprinkle with cheese and also generously grease with mayonnaise or pour over with sauce.

Before serving, be sure to keep the appetizer in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Decorate to your liking. Can be chopped egg white and yolks. Or just sprinkle with fresh herbs.
